How long does a ceramic coating actually last?

Our Crystal package is guaranteed for 5 years and our Ultra package for 9 years. Real-world durability depends on washing technique and exposure, but with proper care our coatings comfortably meet their guarantee period.

What's the difference between Crystal and Ultra?

Crystal uses GTECHNIQ Crystal Serum Light. Single layer, 5-year guarantee. Ultra uses GTECHNIQ Crystal Serum Ultra, a dual-layer nanoparticle structure rated to 10H surface hardness, 9-year guarantee.

Do I still need to wash my car?

Yes, but less often and with much less effort. Dirt and contamination have far less to grip. We supply an aftercare guide on pickup with washing technique and recommended products.

Will it protect against scratches?

Accepted Answer

The coating significantly increases surface hardness and dramatically reduces light swirling from washing. It is not a substitute for paint protection film (PPF) against rock chips or impact.

Does it change how the leather looks or feels?

No. The coating is invisible and doesn't alter texture, gloss or smell. The cabin looks exactly the same. It just behaves better.

How long does interior coating last?

Five years on most surfaces, with proper care. Heavy-wear areas (driver's seat bolster, gear shifter) may benefit from a top-up after several years.

Can you treat alcantara?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Alcantara is one of the surfaces that benefits most from a nano-coating. It's prone to staining and oil absorption, and the coating addresses both.

Is paint correction always required before ceramic?

Accepted Answer

If there are visible swirls, oxidation or contamination, yes. Otherwise we lock those defects under the coating. Most vehicles require at least a single-stage correction.

Anywhere from 4 to 12 hours depending on paint condition, vehicle size and how many stages are required.

Can you remove deep scratches?

If the scratch hasn't gone through the clear coat, often yes. Deeper scratches we can dramatically reduce but not fully eliminate without respraying.

What's the legal VLT in Australia?

Legal limits vary by vehicle class and state. For most passenger vehicles in VIC and QLD, the front two door windows must be at least 35% VLT, while every window behind them (rear side windows and rear windscreen) can go as dark as 20% VLT. Goods-carrying vehicles may be permitted darker tint on the rear. We help you stay legal while maximising heat rejection.

Will it fade or turn purple?

No. Our nano-ceramic film uses ceramic particles instead of organic dyes, so it doesn't fade or shift colour over time.

Will it interfere with mobile signal or GPS?

No. Unlike metallic films, nano-ceramic tint is non-conductive and doesn't interfere with phone, GPS, toll tags or radar.

What's included in the yearly inspection?

A thorough visual inspection of the coating's condition and a maintenance brief tailored to your usage. It's a check-in, not a re-application, and entirely optional. Your guarantee remains active whether or not you bring the car in. Free for the life of the guarantee.

What is accident cover?

If a panel is repaired or replaced through insurance during the guarantee period, we re-coat it at no cost. The protection continues exactly as it was on day one.

Is the guarantee transferable?

No. The guarantee is non-transferable to subsequent owners. It does, however, remain a strong selling point if you choose to sell the vehicle.

Yes. For larger fleets we typically run on-site days with a full crew. Smaller fleets are usually coordinated through our workshops in rotation.

Yes. Fleet ceramic guarantees are negotiated as part of the agreement and can include accident cover or driver-transfer terms tailored to your operations.

Do you offer mobile service?

Yes. We service Geelong, Melbourne metro, the Gold Coast and Brisbane on a mobile basis. Full ceramic coatings are typically done at our workshops for environmental control.

How long does a typical full ceramic job take?

One to two days for a full prep, correction and coating, depending on paint condition. We supply a courtesy timeline at booking.

Do you require a deposit?
